Back With a Vengence and Lets Get Festive!!

Hello blog world! It's been too long! I have had all sorts of technical difficulties over the months, and just a general lack of motivation. I couldn't think of anything to blog about, I wasn't doing anything exciting, so I lost interest for awhile. However, it is now the festive season, I have so many ideas and things I want to blog about, and I am so excited to get back into blogging!

Today is just a quick post to say 'hey!', and to show you my ever so cool advent calendar! Last year, so many bloggers and youtubers mentioned an advent calendar by Ciate, filled with 24 amazing mini nail polishes. I started to look for one of these beauties in early November, coming to the conclusion if i really wanted one, I would have to spend a fortune to get it shipped over from the UK. I then stumbled across an Instagram pic from Mecca Cosmetica of the Ciate advent calendar! I was so excited, and ordered one the next day! I was so excited to get this, and as much i was tempted to open them all, I have waited until the First of December-I didn't even look at the back to see what nail polishes were in there!

So, here is the first mini polish I got! It's in the shade "Snow globe' and it is a clear with big chunks of silver and very light blue glitter. It will look so pretty over a red! I also love the little messages behind each door.

You can check out what polishes I get over on my Instagram- @bleubirdxo

If you want to get your own Ciate Advent Calendar, head over to Mecca Cosmetica. They are still available to buy!

What kind of Advent Calendar do you have? Do you have the Ciate one?

The Review: Moroccan Oil

I've never been on to dabble in hair products, but now that I am more into the beauty scene -and I have started re-dying my hair blonde, I though I should start investing in a few things to keep my locks healthy after all of the bleaching. And as a hair novice, where better to start than the cult beauty blogger favourite that is, Moroccan Oil!

I picked this up back in April with a voucher I received for my birthday. I opted for the 25ml size, mainly because of the price. I didn't fancy spending $50 on the full size when I didn't know if it would work, even though I had read so many great reviews.
I use this every time I wash my hair, which is every 2nd or 3rd day, and I just pour a small amount into the palm of my hands, rub my hands together and run them through the ends of my damp hair. It smells amazing, and it makes my dry ends feel so much healthier. It also helps with the frizz factor and smoothes everything down. My hair looks shinier, smoother and healthy when I use the Moroccan Oil, and I can definitely notice a difference in my hair when I don't use it.
The only thing I don't like with this size bottle is that there is no pump, so sometimes when i pour it out I get way to much product! I'd definitely spend the extra money to buy the bigger bottle for the pump.
I've had my 25ml bottle for a good 2 months, and as you can see I have used a litle less than half of the bottle. It is quite pricey, at $25 for the 25ml size, and $50 for the 125 ml, but it lasts months, so I can justify it.

You can buy Moroccan Oil online or in salons or places like Hairhouse Warehouse in Australia.

Have you tried Moroccan Oil, or any other products from the brand?

The Review: Alpha H Absolute Eye Complex

Over the last few months I have completely overhauled my skincare routine and the products I use. I've never been big into skincare, until I started watching Anna's (viviannadoesmakeup) videos. My old skincare routine of the Clinique 3 Step System just working anymore, but there will be more on that in another post!

While doing my skincare product overhaul, I researched eye creams. I have never used one before, really did feel the need to as I am only 23, and I always thought they were marketed to more mature ladies for anti-aging, or were somewhat of a gimmick for things such as under eye circles and bags -ah the youthful mind of a teenager!. However, after watching a number of videos, I decided to give one a go.

I ended up going with the Alpha H Absolute Eye Complex. Needless to say, I am so happy I have this in my routine! Its a gel consistency serum with Cucumber and Vitamin B5, amongst other things. It feels really refreshing and cooling when you put it on the skin, and the gel consistency means it's not oily and a dream to apply.
I don't really have lines around my eyes, as I'm still quite young. I did, however, have a problem with dark circles -yes, did! This serum has helped so much with my dark circles! Honestly, they were that bad at one point that my mum asked me to go and have blood tests to see if I had any deficiencies!  I noticed the difference in colour after about a week of using this serum. I am so amazed!

At the moment I use the serum morning and night. I think if you were wearing makeup everyday, it might be a bit too tacky under eye makeup, so I would keep it for night use. I don't wear makeup on a daily basis so this is fine for me to use morning and night. I did, however, get a sample of the Origins Ginzing Eye Cream, and LOVED that! I would definitely purchase the Origins for morning use if I was to wear makeup every day, but for now, the Alpha H Absolute Eye Complex is doing it's job perfectly.

The one thing I don't like is that for me, the pump dispenses way too much! I have to be careful not to press it down all the way otherwise I find myself wasting quite a bit of product!

You can purchase the Alpha H Absolute Eye Complex from Cult Beauty.

Do you have a favourite eye cream? Or have you tried any other Alpha H products?
